What ages are your chess classes for?

Chess4U welcomes children aged 5 to 16. Groups are kept small and beginner-friendly, with sessions suited to different experience levels where noted on the schedule.

Can my child join with no chess experience?

Yes. Many of our players start as complete beginners. Coaches teach the rules, basic tactics, and good habits in a calm, encouraging setting.

Where do you run kids chess classes in Glasgow?

We teach at Woodend BLTC in Jordanhill (30 Chamberlain Rd, G13 1QG) and St Francis Community Centre in the Gorbals (405 Cumberland St, G5 0SE). We also run an online class on Thursday evenings for families who want extra practice from home.

Do you offer online chess lessons for kids?

Yes. Our online session runs on Thursdays, 19:00–20:00. Several weekly packages combine in-person lessons in Jordanhill or the Gorbals with the online class—see Schedule for options.
